Wisdom is as Wisdom does

My college friend's father - a now retired executive -- once said, "Never do anything that will land you on the cover of The New York Times."  This actually ended up in their ethics training materials -- at his firm and at his son-in-law's.

An updated version of this would seem to be, "Never do anything that will land you on the headlines of the Drudge Report."
